Task two is about me linking the latter project proposals discussed and finding a sensible way to carry them forward. Through writing out a bit about each project I can see how the lectures and work already done over the past month has influenced these ideas. I have divided the projects into three categories. Category 1 is for projects to take forward, category 2 is for secondary projects which will be only written about or researched but no practise will be undertaken until further down the line and category 3 contains all projects put on hold until a future date.
Category 1
- Artist & Object - Get your bits out
- Ephemera Exhibit - To keep or not to keep
- Personal Music Collection Publication
- Found in Tokyo
- Baby Jumper Pattern
Category 2
- Natural Markings
- Interactive Graveyards
Category 3
- Be Hospitable 2
In category 1 there are a couple of the project ideas that fit into on another and will work alongside one another. Artist & Object and Ephemera Exhibit are very similar in context, the only thing that separates them are: Artist & Object is about other practitioners collections and their relation to each others Ephemera Exhibit relates to my collection and what other people's view's are on this, perhaps asking them to reflect on their own collections.
Personal Music Collection Publication works alongside the Found in Tokyo project as the album was created through using the equipment that will be documented in the publication, so this forms a unitary piece.
Baby Jumper Pattern was one of my earliest project proposals and although I feel it has great links with the other two and my initial path of finding links between art, craft and design, it does not link in directly with the others as mentioned above. And so this will perhaps be the last stage of my development from category one and left until the other projects have been started.
Category 2 consists of ideas that are still in their early stages and so for this reason I am choosing to have them as secondary projects whereby I will set up a blog for each of the subjects to document the findings I already have and to add to it throughout the coming year. These projects could then be realised at a future date when I have collected more about each of them for me to take a deeper look into what I want from them.
Category 3 which doesn't hold many of the proposals will be left until further notice.
Each of the projects I am proposing demand a lot of work and structure and so I am now setting myself the task of Art Directing my time and other people's time perhaps within these ideas to help me work to deadlines, to understand what it is I am doing and to enable me to clearly explain to others what the project is about and how they can be involved.
Task 3 - Plan timeline for each project proposal and begin to develop mind maps for each subject.
